BLACK BELT GRADING INFORMATION
Earning your Black Belt is the first step on your BEYOND BLACK BELT JOURNEY. Once you have earned your 1st Dan or Poom belt, more training is required than at the colour belt level to progress to the next level.
Our philosophy at HDMA is that Black Belts should train to improve, rather than training solely for Gradings, however setting goals is an important part of fruitful training. See below for some guidelines regarding your future training and Gradings!
The Journey to Your Next Belt
Earning Your Recommendation
CLASS ATTENDANCE
Each level has a minimum number of classes you must attend to be considered for your next level. Consult your current syllabus!
TRAINING TIME
Your Training Time is the active number of days you have spent since achieving your last rank. Please note that long breaks do not count to your active Training Time. Consult your syllabus for your required Training Time.
CLUB CULTURE
Our Black Belts are expected to exemplify the Club Oath at all times, and contribute to a positive club environment.
COMPLETED PRE-GRADING CHECKLIST
Once the previous requirements are met, you will complete your Pre-Grading Checklist to check if you have comfortably completed your current Syllabus. This will be completed by Instructor during class after submission.
Important Notes
RECORD YOUR ATTENDANCE!
As a Black Belt, it is your job to record your attendance. If you are responsible enough to be a Black Belt, you can take responsibility for recording your attendance. Any missed records will not be counted towards Grading Attendance.
PRE-GRADING CHECKLISTS
Each check must be completed within 3 weeks of submission to an Instructor. Once 3 weeks have passed, you may need to submit a new check.
