Hills District Martial Arts: Taekwondo, Haidong Gumdo & Hapkido

What is Hapkido?

Hapkido is a Korean Martial Art with a greater focus on Self-Defence. Hapkido employs a wide variety of techniques including Joint-Locking and Trapping, Grappling and Throwing, Kicks, Strikes and Weaponry (such as Knife, Sword, Rope, Walking Cane, Short Stick and Long Stick). Many Hapkido techniques are often incorporated into Military and Law Enforcement training.

Hapkido follows the principals of Non-Resistance, Circular Motion and Harmony with your opponent, to use a stronger opponents power against them. As such it can be quite ideal for students of all body types.

Regular participation in Hapkido brings a number of physical, mental and spiritual benefits. Click here for more information on the benefits of Martial Arts training.
